Admissions - Undergraduate Degree Programmes

Requirements for the 4-year Undergraduate Degree (UTME)
Candidate seeking admission into the 4-year undergraduate degree programme should possess any of the following:
At least 5 Ordinary level credit passes in WASC, WAEC, SSCE/GCE, NECO SSCEor at least 5 merit-level passes in the Teachers Grade (TC 11) examinations or its recognised equivalent at not more than 2sittings. The subjects should include English Language and Fine Arts.

NOTE:
UTME subjects are:
1. Use of English
2. Fine Arts
3. Any other 2 subjects from Arts or Social Sciences.

Admission Requirements for the 3-year Degree (Direct Entry)
In addition to (A) above, candidates who posses any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission:
(i) At least 2 Advanced Level passes in Fine Arts and any other subject in the General Certificate of Education (GCE) or the Higher School Certificate (HSC). The subjects should include Literature in English.

(ii) At least an Upper Credit level pass in the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) or a Lower Crdeit pass in Higher National Diploma (HND) in FIne Arts from a recognised Polytechnics or College of Technology or at least a Credit Pass in University of Benin Diploma in Fine Arts (DFA).

(iii) At least a Credit level pass in Fine Arts, and an overall merit level pass at the NC or its equivalent qualification from a recognised College of Education.

(iv) Candidates with at least an Upper Credit level pass in HND, who satisfy (A) above are eligible for consideration for a Direct Entry admission into 300 level.

CONDITIONS FOR THE AWARD OF DEGREES
(i) the 4 year undergraduate degree programme includes 3 months of Industrial Training and field trips for all students at the 300 level and is a requirement before entering the 400 level.

(ii) a student is expected to pass all the prescribed courses and earn the required credits, i.e. credits for the 4-year programme and credits for the 3-year degree programme.
